the white stripes played an awesome show tonight. i had sooo much even though i went by myself.
i got there rather early...5pm for a 7:30 start. i didn't want to risk any traffic or getting lost problems. however, i didn't encounter either of those. i hung out outside the masonic talking with random people. 2 women in the 30's from youngstown, ohio (i was there in feb. 04) and a younger guy from fort wayne, indiana. then we started to talking a couple from kansas city. so despite being alone...i met people and it was so cool meeting these huge fans.
i can't recall every single song they played but some highlights were:
hotel yorba
we are going to be friend
red rain
forever for her (is over for me)
passive manipulation [they played this song twice]
cold cold night [meg singing, jack on drums]
when i hear my name
ball and biscuit
little bird
sadly, they didn't play death letter or black math...those are my two favourite songs. but the show was erally intense...i rocked out and danced the whole time. i was pretty much in my own little world...it was fantastic!
the crowd was pretty motionless...which sort of sucked. i mean it was nice not get pushed around or covered in other people's sweat but the crowd was tame. however...nothing will ever beat the fact that i saw my favourite band in concert in their home town and i did it by myself and i had the time of my life!
there was one hitch though and it was my own dumbass mistake...
do not.
do not wear a soviet union shirt when trying to enter the US.
it will get you pulled into homeland security for further searches.
